Chicken Liver Pate

I only make this during the holidays....don't know why, because we love it. That's what makes it so special!
Ingredients:
1 lb. chicken livers
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
salt & black pepper to taste( add more black pepper or cayenne)
3 boiled eggs
1/3 cup olive oil
2 green onions, finely chopped
Directions:
1. Saute' livers and onions in butter
2. Add water for juice, if needed
3. When they are done, add salt & pepper
4. Remove them to cool and reserve the juice
5. Mince livers with egg whites in food processor
6. Mash egg yolks into a smooth paste with olive oil
7. Add paste to livers with enough juice to get a spread consistency
8. Add green onions
9. Put into a 2 qt. mold
10. Refrigerate for about an hour
11. Serve with assorted crackers
