Ingredients:
1/2 pound chicken livers,cleaned,and halved
2 tablespoons butter
1 (3oz) package cream cheese,softened
brandy--1 to 2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
shelled pistachio nuts(optional)
Directions:
1. In heavy skillet over medium high heat,brown livers in butter about 4 to 10 minutes.
2. Transfer livers to an electric blender or a food processor.
3. Add drippings and scraped-up browned bits along with the next seven ingredients.
4. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth.
5. Adjust seasoning
6. Spoon mixture into a crock,cover,and chill overnight.
7. Garnish with the pistachio nuts,if you like
8. Makes 4 servings
