Will,what can I say?It's LIVER! Ingredients:
1/2 pound chicken livers,cleaned,and halved |
2 tablespoons butter |
1 (3oz) package cream cheese,softened |
brandy--1 to 2 tablespoons |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg |
shelled pistachio nuts(optional) |
Directions:
1. In heavy skillet over medium high heat,brown livers in butter about 4 to 10 minutes. 2. Transfer livers to an electric blender or a food processor. 3. Add drippings and scraped-up browned bits along with the next seven ingredients. 4. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth. 5. Adjust seasoning 6. Spoon mixture into a crock,cover,and chill overnight. 7. Garnish with the pistachio nuts,if you like 8. Makes 4 servings |
