This recipe is cooked in a Crock Pot. I like to add potatoes when I fix this dish. Recipe doesn't state how many servings. Cook time is 7 - 10 hours on low. 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours on high. Ingredients:
1 3-pound chicken, whole or cut up |
2 carrots, sliced |
2 onions, sliced |
2 celery stalks with leaves, cut in 1-inch pieces |
2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper |
1/2 cup water, chicken broth or white wine |
1/2 - 1 teaspoon basil |
Directions:
1. Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crock-pot. Add whole chicken or chicken pieces. Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top. Cover and cook until done-Low: 7 to 10 hours. (High: 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, using 1 cup water). Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula. |
