Fricasee' should always be served with long grain white rice, french style cut green beans or fresh from the vine snap beans, and Evangeline Maid Bread with a side of room timp butter. That is my personal liking! Read more !!!
Ingredients:
1 large onion chopped
1 medium bell pepper chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup flour
1/2 cup conola oil
1 pound of chicken legs
1 pound of chicken thighs (skin/fat taken off)
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
big glass of water on hand at all times
black iron or magnelite pot
Directions:
1. Pan fry chicken in preferable pot with oil. Remove chicken after 20 minutes. Add flour and cook on high heat stirring constantly until you have a dark brown color (almost burnt). Add veggies to stop the frying process. Let veggies simmer for 3 minutes and pour water in slowly as the mixture combines (lets off a lot of steam). Add salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and black pepper 30 minutes later (you don't want the seasonings to leave the pot). Don't forget to add the chicken back into the pot, it my get lonely. Cook on medium heat for 1 hour and enjoy!!!
