Another way to do chicken cordon blue.... via stove top... this is really good...a recipe Ive had for a long time.... Ingredients:
6 flat chicken breasts, skinned and boned |
1 package swiss cheese slices (8 oz) |
1 package sliced cooked ham (8 oz) |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 teaspoon paprika |
6 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup dry white wine |
1 chicken flavored bouillon cube |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 cup heavy or whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Spread chicken breasts flat; fold cheese and ham slices to fit on top. 2. Fold breasts over filling and fasten edges with toothpicks. 3. On waxed paper; mix flour and paprika; use to coat chicken. 4. In a 12 inch skillet over medium heat, in hot butter, cook chicken untill browned on all sides. 5. Add wine and bouillon. 6. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 30 minutes or until fork tender; remove toothpicks. 7. Remove chicken to platter. 8. In a cup, blend cornstarch and cream until smooth; gradually stir into skillet. 9. Cook , stirring constantly and scraping bottom, until thickened. 10. Serve over chicken. |
