I am pretty sure I got the original recipe here on Recipezaar but I can't find the actual printout. I when I put it in my recipe file I wrote it out with all my tweaks. So here it is with my changes, and thanks to whomever put up the original recipe. Ingredients:
3 lbs chicken (i used boneless, skinless breasts) |
1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 small onion, diced |
1 small red pepper, diced |
1 tablespoon garlic, diced |
1/2 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
1 lb of your favorite pasta |
Directions:
1. Chop the onion and put in the bottom of the crock pot. 2. Put the chicken on top of the onion. 3. Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl and pour over the chicken. 4. Turn the crock pot on low and cook for 8 hours. 5. Cook the pasta and plate your meal! The breasts will easily break in halves or quarters, or chunks, whatever you like best. Dip out the sauce with a ladle. Serve with your favorite salad and garlic bread. 6. I throw the left over pasta in the crock pot and let it sit in the sauce while we are eating. (If we have any leftovers!). |
