Hearty meal. Ingredients:
1 lb dried navy beans, rinsed |
4 cups water |
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1 inch pieces |
8 ounces cooked ham, cut into 1 inch pieces |
3 large carrots, sliced |
2 medium onions, coarsely chopped |
2 celery ribs, sliced |
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons molasses |
Directions:
1. In slow cooker, soak beans overnight in 4 cups water. 2. Cover; cook on HIGH for 3 hours. 3. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. 4. Cover; cook on HIGH for an additional 3 to 4 hours or until beans are tender. |
