Chicken And Beef Satay With Peanut Sauce

A nice way to start a barbecue with friends. Serve with a glass of wine while the rest of the barbecue cooks The marinade doesn't look so good, but the taste is great!.
Ingredients:
8 (10 inch) wooden skewers (you may need more)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1 small ribeye steak, trimmed
peanut sauce
1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
dash garlic powder
dash cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/3 cup water
Directions:
1. Soak skewers in warm water for 20 to 30 minutes.
2. In blender, combine cream, spices, salt, onion and garlic. Process until smooth.
3. Cut chicken and beef into 1/4 inch thick slices.
4. In bowl, toss chicken and beef strips in marinade. Let stand 15 minutes.
5. Preheat broiler.
6. Thread some chicken and beef strips onto skewers without crowding, using about three-fourths of the skewer.
7. Discard remaining marinade.
8. Broil on a well oiled broiler pan for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until just cooked through.
9. Meanwhile, in bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients.
10. Micorwave sauce 30 to 45 seconds or until smooth and heated through.
11. Serve satays with sauce.
