1 cup chopped onion |

1/2 cup medium barley, uncooked |
1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon turmeric |
3 (14 1/4-ounce) cans no-salt-added chicken broth |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Uncover and simmer 15 minutes or until barley is tender. |
