This is my Mama's recipe! Sure is good with fried chicken! Ingredients:
3 cups boiling chicken broth |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
lemon pepper seasoning, to taste |
white pepper, to taste |
1 1/2 cups long grain rice, uncooked |
1/2 cup slivered almonds |
3 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Combine boiling broth, salt, seasonings, and rice in an ungreased 2. 2 1/2-quart casserole or baking dish. 3. Cover tightly with foil or lid, and bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or 4. until liquid is completely absorbed and rice is tender. 5. Meanwhile, lightly brown almonds in the butter. 6. Add almonds and butter to hot baked rice; toss to blend well. |
