Very favorite recipe of my family. I always have to make 6 times this recipe to feed my brood. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, salted |
1/3 cup all-purpose flour |
1 3/4 cup milk |
1 cup chicken broth |
1 cup light meat chicken, cooked |
1 cup dark meat chicken, cooked |
4 ounce mushrooms, drained |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large sauce pan, or dutch oven if making a lot. Stir in flour and cook till smooth an bubbly. 2. Add milk and chicken broth all at once and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 3. Add meat, mushrooms, salt and pepper and heat through. 4. Serve over toast or biscuits. |
