Healthy homemade granola bars. Great for road trips and lunches! Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
2/3 cup peanut butter |
1/2 cup corn syrup |
1/2 cup butter |
2 tsp vanilla |
3 cups quick cooking oats |
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds |
1/2 cup raisins or craisins |
1/3 cup ground flax |
1/2 cup flaked almonds |
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350F. 2. Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper. 3. Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl mixing well. 4. Stir in remaining ingredients; blend well. 5. Press mixture onto prepared pan. 6. Bake for 15 minutes only. (otherwise it gets hard) 7. Cool completely before cutting into bars 8. This recipe is flexible and you can substitute other dried fruits and nuts. |
