A recipe from one of my mothers old handwritten cookbooks. A great Australian tradition! Ingredients:
1 egg |
1 cup self raising flour |
1/2 cup walnuts |
4 ounces melted butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup chopped dates |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together well and put into shallow slice tin, bake in a moderate oven at 375 deg. for 20 minutes. 2. When cold cut slice into squares. |
