from an old german cookbook Ingredients:
3 tbsp butter or margarine |
1 pound chestnuts, roasted, peeled and chopped |
3/4 pound dried, pitted prunes, soaked overnight in water to cover, drained and chopped |
3/4 pound bulk pork sausage |
2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced |
Directions:
1. Melt butter or margarine in large skillet over medium heat. Add chestnuts, prunes, apples and sausage; sauté chestnut mixture 12 to 15 minutes or until apples are cooked but not falling apart. Let mixture cool. 2. Spoon into bird cavity. Cook inside bird. 3. the times are approximate, due to the size of your bird! |
