Passed down from my Mom, one of our favorites growing up, and still one of my faves! Easy, delicious, and always a hit. Better with the Dream Whip than with the ready-made cool whip. Better if you make the night before and let chill overnight. Ingredients:

1.5 c vanilla wafer crumbs |
1/2 stick butter, softened |

1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened |
3/4 c sugar |
2 pkgs dream whip (mixed according to package directions, with vanilla and milk) |
1 can comstock cherry pie filling |
Directions:
1. CRUST 2. Crush vanilla wafers inside large baggie with rooling pin, to make 1.5 c crumbs 3. Mix wafer crumbs with butter by hand until thoroughly mixed 4. Press into 13x9 glass dish and chill 5. TOPPING 6. Cream together cream cheese and sugar, set aside 7. Mix dream whip in electric mixer according to package directions (will need milk and vanilla) 8. Fold Dream Whip into cream cheese mixture 9. Spread half on top of chilled crust 10. Spoon cherry pie filling over cream cheese mixture 11. Top with remaining chream cheese mixture. 12. Chill overnight 13. Crumble vanilla wafer crumbs over top just before serving |
