We're really not that big on jello salads but this is a family favorite. We call this Mom's Sink Salad. The first time Mom made it my younger brother did something that made her laugh as she was unmolding the jello and the plate slipped and half the molded salad went down the drain! Read more ! Mom didn't think it was funny at the time but we retell the story every time someone makes it - family history! Ingredients:
1 can pitted bing cherries |
3/4 cup boiling water + 1/4 cup juice from the cherries |
3/4 c cream sherry |
1 small package cherry jello |
1 c chopped pecans |
1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, cut into small cubes |
Directions:
1. Make jello with boiling water and sherry. Refrigerate about 1 hour. Add cherries, nuts, and cubed cream cheese. Spoon into mold and refrigerate until firm. |
