Cherry Stuffed French Toast

these are really great with a nice glass of cold milk.OH YEAH
Ingredients:
1 french baguette
4 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces cherry pie fill (about 1/2 can)
4 large eggs
1/2 cup cream
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat griddle to 350 degrees.
2. In a medium bowl mix 4 oz. of cream cheese with cherries (take cherries from can with a fork in order to avoid too much syrup). Blend until smooth. Mixture should be pink, cherries will be in pieces.
3. In a large bowl beat eggs. Add in cream, vanilla extract, cinnamon & nutmeg. Mix well.
4. With a serrated knife cut baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch slices. Cut each slice into a top and bottom without separating. Fill with a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture and close.
5. Soak stuffed bread pieces in egg mixture until slightly squishy . Place on hot greased griddle and cook until golden brown.
6. Serve with powdered sugar, maple syrup or fresh fruit.
