Yummy yellow cake with individual cherry toppings - delicious! This has been a family pleaser for over 30 years. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1 cup butter |
4 eggs, divided |
2 cups flour, sifted |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling |
1 tablespoon powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Cream together sugar and butter; add eggs, one at a time. 3. Add flour and lemon juice; mix well. 4. Pour into a greased 9x13 baking pan. 5. Mark off squares with a butter knife. 6. Put 1 spoonful of cherry pie filling in the middle of each square. 7. Bake for 45 minutes. 8. Remove from oven and cool until warm. 9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; serve warm with ice cream. |
