This cake is fantastic. It's good any time of year, but especially festive at the holidays. It's moist and delicious, and the flavor improves daily. For a special treat, try topping it with my Shiny Chocolate Glaze. Ingredients:
1/2 lb butter, softened |
2 cups sugar |
4 eggs |
1 cup sour cream |
1 tsp vanilla |
2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans |
2 cups flour |
1 tsp baking powder |
1 (6-8 ounces) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped |
Directions:
1. Cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. 2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each one. 3. Add sour cream, vanilla, and remaining ingredients. 4. Mix just until moist. 5. Pour into a greased 10 round pan. 6. Bake at 350° for one hour. |
