Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/3 cups finely chopped pecans |
maraschino cherry, drained and cut in half |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and cream cheese,gradually add sugar,beating at medium spped until light and fluffy. 2. Add egg and almond extract,beating well. 3. Comine flour,soda and salt,stir flour mixture into creamed mixture. 4. Chill dough at least 1 hour. 5. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. 6. Roll in pecans,and place on ungreased cookie sheet. 7. Gently pressa cherry hlf into center of each cookie. 8. Bake at 350 for 16-18 minutes. 9. Cool on racks. |
