This is candy that brings back happy memories. Make a panful and eat it all yourself! Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 tbsp butter |
1/4 tsp.salt |
1/2 cup evaporated milk |
20 marashmallows |
1 cup cherry chips or 1/2 cup chopped marischino cherries |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1 cup salted peanuts, chopped or smashed with the side of a meat pounder or hammer (this is also stress therapy...) |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, butter, salt and milk in saucepan. 2. Boil over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 3. Stir in marshmallows and cherry chips. 4. Spread in 8 or 9 inch square pan lined with waxed paper. 5. Melt chocolate chips with peanut butter in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. 6. Stir in chopped peanuts. 7. Spread over cherry layer. 8. Cool and cut into squares. |
