Easy. Lovely dessert. Ingredients:
baked 9 inch pie crust |
1 can cherry pie filling |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract |
1/2 pint whipping cream |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 cup sour cream |
toasted almonds, for sprinkling before serving |
Directions:
1. In bowl, combine cherry pie filling, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract 2. Set aside 3. In bowl, beat whipping cream, adding 1/4 cup sugar gradually 4. Gently fold sour cream into the *whipped* cream 5. Spoon about 1/2 cherry mixture into the baked pie crust 6. Spread about 2/3 of the whipped cream/sour cream mixture over the cherries 7. Then gently spoon the remaining cherries over this 8. Spoon the 1/3 remaining whipped cream mixture over this 9. Chill until firm, about 2 hours 10. NOTE: may sprinkle with toasted almonds before serving |
