My mother used to make this and it looked interesting. Make it in the spring when the cherries are ripe and serve it the following winter. Ingredients:
2 quarts sour cherries, unpitted |
2 cups sugar |
1 (750 ml) bottle bourbon (100 proof) |
Directions:
1. Mix cherries, sugar, and bourbon in a glass 1 gallon jar. 2. Keep in a cool, dark place. 3. Shake once a week. 4. Serve chilled at Christmas time. |
