CHERRY GARCIA ICE CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Corbett Estate in Fate, Texas in 1986. Ingredients:
1/4 cup shaved plain chocolate |
1/4 cup fresh bing cherries halved and pitted |
2 large eggs |
3/4 cup sugar |
2 cups heavy cream |
1 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Place shaved chocolate flakes and cherries in separate bowls then cover and refrigerate. 2. Whisk eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy about 2 minutes. 3. Whisk in sugar a little at a time then continue whisking until completely blended about 1 minute. 4. Pour in cream and milk then whisk to blend. 5. Transfer mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze following then instructions. 6. After ice cream stiffens about 2 minutes before it is done add chocolate and cherries. 7. Continue freezing until ice cream is ready. |
