I don't remember where I came by this recipe, but I know I've been making it for years. It's very good.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup quartered cherries
Directions:
1. Mix flour, butter and 3 tbsp sugar until smooth; spread in 8 pan and bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
2. Blend together sugar and eggs; then add flour, baking powder and baking soda.
3. Add vanilla, and the rest of the ingredients.
4. Spread over top of cooked pastry.
5. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
6. Cool.
