There is nothing fancy about this cake. A great coffee cake. You can use whatever pie filling you wish. I make this in a pinch. Ingredients:
cream together |
1/2 pound margarine (sweet butter) |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
add one at a time, 4 eggs mixing in well |
add |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
add |
3 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
dash of salt(never use it in my cakes) |
1 can cherry pie filling, or what fruit filling you need mix in 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract |
Directions:
1. grease 9 x 13 pan and flour it.
2. pour 3/4 of batter into pan.
3. place on fruit
4. then top with rest of batter
5. bake 40-45 minutes, test
