Cherry and Raisin Sauce

A nice sweet sauce to serve over ham slices.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups tart red pitted cherries (reserve cherry juice)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/4 cup seeded raisins
sherry wine
red food coloring (optional)
Directions:
1. Use medium heat.
2. In a heavy duty large sauce pan, mix sugar, cornstarch, and cloves and gradually stir in cherry liquid.
3. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
4. Thin with sherry.
5. Add food coloring if desired.
6. Serve hot over ham slices.
