Another tried and true recipe that is so easy, yet so delicious, for everyone to try. Ingredients:
1/4 cup cherry jelly or 1/4 cup red currant jelly |
3 tablespoons brandy or 3 tablespoons kirsch, divided |
1 cup fresh cherries, washed and pitted |
1/4 cup crystallized ginger, chopped |
3 cups vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan over low heat, stir together the jelly and 2 tablespoons of the brandy until smooth. 2. Add the cherries and the ginger and gently heat the mixture over low heat until the cherries are warm. 3. Add the remaining brandy and carefully flambé by touching mixture with a lit match. 4. Pour, while warm over four bowls of ice cream. Delicious! |
