Cherokee Huckleberry Bread |

This recipe makes 1 loaf of very good bread. In the summer we pick wild huckleberries in the woods near where we live. This recipe was such a treat. Ingredients:
2 c self-rising flour 1 c milk |
1 egg |
1 ts vanilla extract |
1 c sugar |
2 c berries (huckleberries or blueberries) |
1 stick of butter |
Directions:
1. Cream eggs, butter and sugar together. 2. Add flour, milk, and vanilla. 3. Sprinkle flour on berries to prevent them from going to the bottom. 4. Add berries to mixture. 5. Put in baking pan and bake in over at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until done. |
