This is a family favorite that has been around for as long as I can remember. We usually have this at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and sometimes both. Enjoy Ingredients:
4 cups cooked squash |
1/2 cup milk |
1 egg |
1 can cream of mushroom soup |
1/2 cup chopped white onion |
2/3 cup herb seasoned stuffing mix |
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese |
topping |
1/2 cup stuffing |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook squash in salted water until tender then drain well. 2. Stir in milk and soup. 3. Blend in egg and add onion, stuffing and cheese then spoon in a buttered baking dish. 4. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over casserole. 5. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. |
