My husband mentioned this dish years ago. I finally had a chance to create my version and spiced it up a bit. He likes it! My two year old son can't have enough of it. Ingredients:
1 8oz pkg soft cream cheese |
1 c. shredded jack cheese |
1 lb. medium size shrimp. shelled, deveined and coarsely chopped |
4 green onions, diced |
5 cloves garlic, minced |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1/4 tsp. chili powder |
1/2 c. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained (optional) |
black pepper to taste |
1 16oz. pkg wonton wrappers |
oil for frying |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except the last two. Mix well. 2. Moisten edges of wonton wrapper. Fill with 1 tbsp. shrimp mixture. 3. Fold wonton wrapper diagonally. Pinch edges to seal. 4. In a large skillet heat oil over medium-high heat. 5. Deep fry wonton until golden brown. 6. Drain on paper towels. 7. Serve warm with any dipping sauce or alone. 8. Enjoy! |
