They're irresistibly good!! These popovers are a delicious alternative to bread and they're easy to make. Mix flour, grated cheese and salt with evaporated milk, water and eggs. Stir quickly, spoon into muffin pans, top with more grated cheese and bake, and Voila!! Cheesy popovers!! Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated, divided |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 (370 ml) can carnation evaporated skim milk (2% or fat free) |
1/2 cup water |
4 eggs |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F Place 12 muffin pan in oven while it is heating. 2. Combine flour, 1 cup grated cheese, and salt in a large bowl. 3. Combine evaporated milk and water and heat to 125F (approximately 1 minute on high in the microwave) and whisk with eggs. Add to flour mixture. Do not overmix. Don't worry if there are a few lumps. 4. Remove hot pan from oven. Spray with nonstick cooking spray. Put 1/3 cup batter into each cup. Sprinkle wirh remaining grated cheese. 5. Bake in preheated oven 35-40 minutes, until puffed and browned. Serve hot. 6. TIPS: Us any of your favorite cheese, just replace with the same amount. |
