I made this bread last night with spaghetti. It's a break from my regular garlic bread. It was fabulous. This will definitely replace the garlic bread. It was delicious dipped in the marinara sauce as well. Ingredients:
1 french baguette (i get the kind that aren't baked all the way through yet in my store's deli area) |
4 tablespoons salted butter, room temperture |
1 cup shredded white or yellow cheese (i think white looks better) |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
4 tablespoons mayonaise |
dried basil for top |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cut baguette lengthwise. 3. Spread butter over both pieces. 4. In a bowl, mix shredded cheeses with mayonaise. 5. Spread this mixture over butter. 6. Sprinkle dried basil over the top. 7. Bake in oven for about 15 minutes or until the bread browns on the bottom and the cheese on top melts and becomes bubbly and golden brown. |
