Very neat recipe I found online. Of course you can use Pam cooking spray instead of olive oil and use reduced fat cheese, etc., to cut the fat. Enjoy! 8) Ingredients:
8 ounces lean ground beef or 8 ounces ground turkey |
1/4 cup green bell pepper, chopped |
1/4 cup finely onion, chopped |
1 cup tomato sauce |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1 teaspoon prepared mustard |
1/8 teaspoon black pepper |
1 (12 ounce) package ready-to-bake refrigerated buttermilk flaky biscuits |
2 1/4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°. 2. In large skillet coated with olive oil, brown meat, onion and green pepper. 3. Drain, and add tomato sauce, brown sugar, mustard and black pepper; simmer for 5 minutes. 4. Place each biscuit in a sprayed muffin cup, pressing dough up sides, to the edge of cups. 5. Evenly spoon mixture into the muffin cups. 6. Bake 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. 7. Sprinkle the cheese and bake 2-3 minutes or until cheese has melted. |
