These are always a hit when I take them to parties. I found this recipe in a Spirit of Christmas book. Ingredients:
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped |
1/3 cup margarine, melted |
1/4 cup sugar |
8 ounces cream cheese, softened |
1 egg |
2 tablespoons milk |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Mix brown sugar, flour, and nuts. 2. Stir in margarine until blended. 3. Reserve 1/3 cup of mixture; pat remainder in a greased 8-inch square baking pan. 4. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven fo 12-15 minutes. 5. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. 6. Beat in remaining ingredients. 7. Pour over baked crust; sprinkle with reserved pecan mixture. 8. Return to oven and bake 25 minutes. 9. Cool slightly; then cut in two-inch squares. |
