Great for a Saturday night meal with a tossed salad. Ingredients:
9 inch pie shell |
1 lb lean ground beef |
1/3 cup chopped onion |
1/2 cup water or 1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon ground oregano |
1 cup grated medium cheddar |
Directions:
1. Roll out pastry and fit into pie plate. 2. Combine ground beef and onion in fry pan. 3. Brown with a little oil if desired, until beef is no longer pink, and onion is clear. 4. Add water or milk, bread crumbs, ketchup, salt, pepper, and oregano. 5. Mix well. 6. Cool slightly. 7. Pour into pie shell. 8. Smooth top. 9. Sprinkle cheese over top. 10. Cover with top crust and bake uncovered at 350 degrees F. 11. for 45 minutes. 12. Cuts into 6 wedges. |
