You'll love this homemade version of Hamburger Helper minus all the preservatives and powdered cheese!! The taste you love, with all the convenience, and ingredients that you can pronounce! Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
2 cups whole wheat pasta (shells or elbows work well) |
2 cups 2% milk |
1 cup hot water |
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons paprika |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet until no longer pink. Drain. Return to skillet. 2. Add hot water, milk, pasta, and seasonings. Stir to combine. 3. Cover and simmer for 15 - 20 mins or until pasta is cooked and sauce has reduced. 4. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. 5. Remove from heat and let sit 5 mins until sauce is thickened. 6. Serve and enjoy! |
