This is a recipe I obtained from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Crawford Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
2 cups sifted cake flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 eggs separated |
1-1/4 cups bottled milk |
6 tablespoons salad oil |
1 cup grated american cheese |
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Beat egg yolks until light then add with milk to dry ingredients. 3. Stir in salad oil and cheese then beat well. 4. Beat egg whites with a hand or electric beater until stiff then fold into waffle batter. 5. Bake according to manufacturer’s directions. |
