I think I got this from one of those Pillsbury books you buy at the grocery store checkout. Funny that it turned out to be the same recipe my mother-in-law uses! My husband added bacon when he made it and now it's a family favorite. Ingredients:
1 lb. medium mushrooms |
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions with tops |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1/4 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs |
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese |
3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
2 tbsp snipped parsley |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 tsp dried basil |
1/4 tsp pepper |
Directions:
1. Remove stems from mushrooms; finely chop stems. Cook and stir mushroom stems, green onions and garlic in margarine over med. heat until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Fill mushroom caps with stuffing mixture. Place mushrooms, filled sides up, in greased baking dish. Bake uncovered in 350° oven for 15 minutes. |
