Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
dash of white pepper |
1 cup milk |
3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, salt, and pepper, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese; stir until cheese melts. |
