Originally a variation of the Better Homes and Gardens red and white cookbook white sauce recipe Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
3/4 cup milk |
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan melt butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until the mix becomes bubbly. Stir in milk all at once and whisk. Stir until thickened and bubbly then add cheese and stir again. |
