These cute little disks are a great snack to have around the house. Better than an ordinary cracker or plain old pretzel. Ingredients:
1/4 pound butter |
cayenne pepper, depending on your tastes |
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted |
salt to your taste |
1/4 pound of strong cheese, such as extra sharp cheddar, grated |
powdered sugar, optional |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, grate the cheese and add the butter. 2. Cream well, then add salt and cayenne pepper. 3. Work the flour until well blended. 4. Roll onto a board and smooth. 5. Roll into a long thin roll. Wrap with plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. 6. Slice into thin slices. 7. Place on a cookie sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray. 8. Bake at 350° until they begin to brown, about 8-10 minutes. 9. If desired, dust some of them with some powdered sugar. 10. Great snack! |
