what can I say? this is perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whenever the weather is chilly. not positive on the prep times. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups grits |
6 cups water |
1 lb grated cheese (sharp cheddar or pepperjack) |
1/2 cup butter |
3 teaspoons creole salt |
1 -3 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon tabasco sauce |
1 teaspoon paprika |
3 beaten eggs |
Directions:
1. cook grits in water according to package directions. Once cooked, remove from heat and let cool. 2. In a bowl combine eggs, cheese, and spices. 3. When grits have cooled, mix together with egg mixture. 4. Pour into a greased casserole dish. 5. Top with more cheese and cover with aluminun foil. 6. Bake at 250 for 1 hour. 7. Note: halfway thru cooking, remove foil to get the top nice and browned. |
