I prefer to make this with homemade tomato soup or any other soup will do. This is a sort of take-off on the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Also any soft cheese can be put in the biscuits according to what soup you are making. Ingredients:
ingredients1 family-size can (about 26 oz.) condensed tomato soup |
2 10 oz cans buttermilk biscuits |
velveeta cheese cut into 40, 1/4-inch squares |
3 tablespoons butter |
3/4 soup can water |
1/4 soup can milk |
easy to make half the recipe |
Directions:
1. DO NOT LIFT LID FOR 20 MINUTES 2. - 3. Cut or separate biscuits into halves; fill with a piece of cheese; form into balls, tucking cheese inside. 4. Bring soup, milk, water and butter to a boil; add biscuit balls. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes until biscuit balls are done inside. Do not lift lid for 20 minutes. 5. Serve steaming in soup bowls. |
