If you like grits, you will love this casserole. It is an awesome side dish to poultry or seafood, it's also nice at breakfast or brunch. Enjoy Ingredients:
4 cups water |
1 cup old-fashioned grits |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter melted |
2 eggs beaten |
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1/8 teaspoon paprika |
Directions:
1. In large saucepan bring water to a boil then stir in grits and salt. 2. Reduce heat then cover and simmer for 7 minutes or until thickened then cool slightly. 3. Gradually whisk in milk, butter and eggs then stir in cheese, Worcestershire and cayenne. 4. Transfer to a greased 2 quart baking dish then sprinkle with paprika. 5. Bake uncovered at 350 for 35 minutes then allow to stand 10 minutes before serving. |
