Serve your sandwich with vinaigrette-based coleslaw, basked beans and sautéed onions, what a treat!! Ingredients:
1 clove garlic, crushed |
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped or 1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature |
4 large kaiser rolls, sliced in half (square tops for even grilling) or 8 slices thick-cut sourdough bread, 5-inches in diameter |
8 teaspoons barbecue sauce (your favorite flavor) |
8 ounces aged cheddar cheese (thinly sliced or grated) |
8 ounces deli sliced roast beef or 8 ounces thinly sliced leftover steak or 8 ounces roast beef |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, mix garlic, parsley and butter together. Butter outside of kaiser rolls, tops and bottoms. 2. Spread 1 teaspoons of the barbecue sauce on inside of each bun half. 3. Place 2 bottoms, butter side down, in skillet, or 4 if using large griddle. 4. Place 2 oz of sliced roast beef on each bun. Finish sandwiches by placing kaiser tops on, butter side up. 5. Place skillet on stove-top and cook over medium-low heat for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown. 6. Carfully turn sandwiches with spatula and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cheese has melted. Carfully remove sandwiches from pan and serve immediately. |
