This cheese spread is a little different as it contains rum. This is taken from a cookbook issued by the Sisterhood of KK Beth Elohim Synagogue in Charleston, SC in 1977. Ingredients:
1/2 lb grated sharp cheddar cheese, at room temperature |
1/4 lb softened butter |
2 -3 tablespoons jamaican rum |
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (to taste) |
Directions:
1. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for an hour or so until flavors can blend. |
