A girl at work brought this one day. It was decent, not a five star, but definately useful for getting rid of pears. Ingredients:
4 large ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced |
1/3 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell |
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. In a bowl, combine pears, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. 3. Pour into pastry shell. 4. Combine topping ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle over filling. 5. Bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted. 6. Col on a wire rack for 15 to 20 minutes. 7. Serve warm. 8. Store in the refrigerator. |
