CHEDDAR CORNBREAD This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Nicholas Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1986. Ingredients:
1 cup yellow cornmeal |
1 cup all purpose flour |
2 tablespoons granulated sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs beaten |
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in large mixing bowl then set aside. 2. Combine milk, eggs and cheese then add to dry ingredients mixing well. 3. Pour batter into a hot greased cast iron skillet then bake at 425 for 15 minutes. |
