Cheddar Cheese Spritz Crackers

Crowd-pleasing treat. A cookie press works best to make this appetizer, but you can also roll out the dough and just cut with cookie cutters.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter or 2/3 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 egg yolks
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
poppy seeds or sesame seeds, to garnish
Directions:
1. Beat together butter and cheese.
2. Add egg yolks, pepper, mustard, salt, and sugar; beat until well blended.
3. Add flour and stir until smoothly blended.
4. Form dough into balls, put into a spritz cookie press and shape crackers on baking sheets.
5. Or chill dough for 1 hour, roll on a floured surface and cut with fancy cookie cutters, then place on baking sheets.
6. Decorate with seeds if desired.
7. Bake uncovered at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
8. Serve warm or cooled.
